Sourced Trader is a small, independent shop making tools for people who trade and invest with their own money and want to check things for themselves.
Why we started
We started by building tools for our own research. Early on, we repeated a claim about insider buying that came from a single article, without checking the filings. It turned out to be true, but we hadn't known that when we repeated it. That's the problem: confident claims are everywhere, and checking them by hand is slow.
So we built a tool that checks claims against the source. It confirmed that claim from eight Form 4 filings, and on another company it caught about $3.9M of “purchases” that were really option exercises. That became the Primary Source Research Pack, and the idea behind every tool we make.
How we work
- Sources first. Every number in our products and our marketing has a source, or is clearly labelled as an estimate.
- Tested before it's sold. Each product ships with a test report, and we only describe a feature once it has passed testing.
- No performance claims. No P&L screenshots, no “make $X”, no testimonials we can't verify. Screenshots use made-up or anonymised data.
- No advice. We're not financial advisers, and our tools are built not to give buy, sell or hold calls.
- Honest about AI. We use AI tools to help build and test our products, and every product is checked against primary sources before release.
- Your data stays yours. Our tools don't collect your trades, and this site doesn't track you.
